HD QuickLook is a QuickLook plug-in for AVCHD movie files. It will display a thumbnail preview of each AVCHD movie file.
HD QuickLook lets you view the first frame of your AVCHD files without even opening them. View multiple files as a slide show, as an index sheet or full screen - all with a single click.
Downloading and installing HD Quick Look makes it so much easier to view and sort your AVCHD library.
Select an AVCHD file and just tap your space bar to view the file`s first frame in QuickLook. You can also click the QuickLook icon in the Finder window (if it`s not there already, add it by selecting Customize Toolbar from the View menu in the Finder). Then click the arrow icon to see the same file full screen.
All you have to do to begin previewing is to select multiple files and start HD QuickLook to view and index sheet or slide show of your AVCHD files.
The HD QuickLook plug-in works with the Apple Quick Look framework, introduced by Apple with OS X 1.05 (Leopard).
The HD QuickLook plug-in uses the ShedWorx AVCHD converter to quickly create a thumbnail image from the first frame of the AVCHD file. This is the same software that is used to provide the previews in VoltaicHD.
Creating a thumbnail from an AVCHD movie is actually a very complex process which is only marginally simpler than converting the entire AVCHD video into a new format. It is however much quicker as it only needs to convert the first frame.
